Keisha Lance Bottoms
Keisha Lance Bottoms is a 5th generation Georgian who has served as a judge, a city councilwoman, and the 60th Mayor of Atlanta.
In her time as Mayor, she steered the city through extraordinary challenges including a cyber attack on city government, civil unrest, and the COVID pandemic. In spite of those challenges, the Mayor delivered major investments in affordable housing, delivered historic salary raises for police officers and firefighters, supported small businesses, and never raised property taxes. Her term as Mayor helped position Atlanta to become a global business destination – welcoming nine fortune 500 companies who established headquarters here in Atlanta. Most recently, she served in the White House as the Director of the Office of Public Engagement in the Biden administration. Keisha and her husband, Derek, have four children and live in the Atlanta Metro Area. Above all else, Mayor Bottoms is a public servant at heart, who is eager to continue her career of service as Governor.
Three recent polls have shown that our campaign is the clear frontrunner in the Democratic primary. The polls have shown the Mayor with 40%, 43%, and 38% percent of the vote, and a 30-point lead over our nearest opponent. You can read more about the polls here, here, and here. In addition, the polls show that the Mayor remains incredibly well liked, with a favorability rating at 65% and her name ID is over 90%.
